Biostór Ireland was founded in 2007 in Wexford & is an independent Tissue Establishment, licensed by the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) under the EU Tissues & Cells Directives throughout the 27 countries of the EU for the storage and distribution of human tissues and cells for human application. Every two years the Quality Management System is audited for compliance by the HPRA.
Biostór stores bone marrow, peripheral stem cells and donor lymphocytes for Ireland’s national transplant centre. The company also stores and transports human reproductive cells, clinical trial samples, master cell banks and working cell banks under validated cold-chain distribution processes. Biostór has been audited and approved by several multi-national pharmaceutical companies for GMP compliance.
Biostór is expert in the establishment of ISO Quality Systems that comply with the Tissues & Cells Directives (2004/23/EC, 2006/16/EC and 2006/86/EC) that set
standards of quality and safety for the donation, procurement, testing, processing, preservation, storage and distribution of human tissues and cells. Biostór designed,
installed, commissioned and validated all critical equipment and installed and qualified the repository’s inventory management and temperature monitoring systems.
